Integrity Means:
~Being honest
~Doing the right thing, even if no one is looking
~Being sincere

Don't forget students can wear a white shirt on Friday, June 8, 2018.

                                       Play, Learn and Grow Together

Welcome to our 1st grade site!!! Check out our calendar. You will find homework for our class posted, as well as events and activities going on in our classroom and at Harrison. Check back often for updates.

I'm looking forward to working with you and your child during the 2017-2018 school year. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Working together will give your child what he or she needs to become successful in first grade!!!

In order to get the most out of every school day, parents/guardians, we must have your cooperation. It is extremely important to make sure your child is at school no later than 8:45 am every day. This will ensure that your child will not miss a minute of instructional time.

Safety First

As many of our Harrison families know, dismissal is often a very busy time since students are eager to get home. Please be reminded as you send in your completed emergency cards to include ALL individuals who have permission to pick up your child from school. Even if there are not enough spaces for these contacts, please include them on the card where you find room. If a different person other than those listed on the emergency card is picking up your child, please provide a handwritten note that morning with the name of the person authorized to pick up. All of these extra precautions are an effort to ensure the safety of your children. Thank you for your continued cooperation!!!

                      Happy Birthday

Harrison School Student Council will begin their Birthday Shout-Out fundraiser again this year. Since birthday celebrations are not allowed in the classroom, you will have the option to purchase a "birthday shout-out" for your child. The fee is $1.00, which covers their name being announced during morning announcements, a birthday song is played and they also receive an "It's My Birthday" sticker to wear all day!!! If you are interested, please complete the shout-out form that was sent home and send it back to your child's teacher with the $1.00 payment as soon as possible.

                        Important Notice 1
Given the considerable rise in food allergies among school-aged children, the increasing rates of childhood obesity, and the loss of instructional time attributed to in class birthday celebrations, please be advised that beginning October 1, 2013, birthday celebrations involving food items will no longer be allowed in the classrooms.

To acknowledge your child's birthday we encourage you to send in non-food items (pencils, books, stickers, etc...), or to purchase a "Birthday Shout-Out" for $1.00 from our Student Council. You may also bring in birthday treats to be distributed at dismissal time for the children to take home and eat at their parents' discretion. Dr. Perez will also provide each child with a pencil topper and a Happy Birthday sticker at the end of his/her birthday month. Thank you for your cooperation!!!

If you have any questions or concerns, please call Dr. Perez at 908-298-2052, e-mail her at lgonzalezperez@roselleschools.org, or stop by her office.
